Doncha know that I am just bummed. I hear ex-pretence-of-a-president, George W. Bush, Dubya fun, dubya stupid to his friends, ain’t a goin’ to the big to-doin’s called the GOP convention.

Nope, he don’t wanna take the spot light off the dim bulb personality of Willard.

Given that Georgie was one of the more incurious types ever to sit his behind in the oval office, my guess is that it is just too boring for him to bother with.

But then again, no doubt the black sheep son is also somewhat concerned about his legacy. And associating with idiots probably would not help. Speaking of legacy, when I heard that the Texas stooge (not Gohmert or Perry), had written a book about EKO-NOM-IKS, I nearly lost my lunch in guffaws (Willard uses this term for laughing). I mean you gotta be kidding me!

Seriously. The man is a mental midget.

&

There is a really excellent post by Frank Bruni on the NYTimes editorial page about the super-noodle head, Michele Bachmann. Bruni examines her strange variety of “Christianity”, you know the one I mean. The one favored by the likes of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell, and other hate-mongering types who use their sick interpretation of the bible to justify suppression of other people. Take a look. As always take a look at the comments.

&

Ya know,  the NRA may tell me that I can’t talk about gun control because it is “politicizing” a tragedy. Which is dumb of course, but the crazy right thinks it’s exactly the proper time to blame it all on liberals. Colorado is Gods vengeance for turning away from Him. Sick huh? Which makes our favorite hate monger, Bryan Fischer’s remarks all the more backward:

It’s been interesting to me in talking to liberals, and I’m sure you’ve had this same experience, the conclusion I’ve come to is that they cannot be reasoned with because logic means nothing to them, facts mean nothing to them, history means nothing to them, reason means nothing to them. They just have these very strong feelings and the strength of those feelings in their minds is all they need to validate the positions they take. So I’ve just come to the conclusion that liberals cannot be reasoned with they can only be defeated.

Now that will make your head spin won’t it?

&

Willard appears to be taking a page from the Gingrich (where the hell did he go?) playbook. Remember when ole Nootie Patootie was buying Twitter followers? Well it seems our boy Willard has done the same thing. His campaign of course denies it, but his numbers went up dramatically on one day, and they don’t match the retweets and tweets offered on that day. Estimates are that Willard’s twitter account contains only about 26% real people. For an unreal guy, hey that’s pretty good don’t ya think?

&

Well one thing you don’t wanna do. Louis Gohmert Republican idiot from Texas, don’t take no “chit” from nobody, and that includes one John S. McCain–a man not known to take criticism well. Senator McCain had the audacity to criticize Gohmert and Bachmann and others who decided based on no evidence to attack a Hillary Clinton aide. McCain came to her defense.

Well, Gohmert didn’t care for that, and while appearing on the Dennis Miller (he has a show?) show, called McCain “numb nuts” and that McCain was probably under the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood.

I do believe that we are drawing near to a time when it can fairly be said that there are no minds at all in the GOP only facsimiles.

I bid adieu, adios, and good day to you all.

GOHMERT: Well, it’s obvious that John McCain didn’t even read the letter because of what he said in accusing Michele and us of making these horrible accusations. There were five letters and there were many things that are stated that are facts in each letter. And I wish some of these numb nuts would go out and read the letter before they make these horrible allegations about the horrible accusations we’re making. But we also know that John McCain himself had said back in the early stages of stuff going on in Egypt that he was, in his words, “unalterably opposed to helping the Muslim Brotherhood.” Well, obviously the unalterable person has been altered, so he is okay with it now.

Yeah, well now Louis, you have about as much sense as Gomer Pyle on a bad day, so I’d button that lip before Johnny comes and lays you out on the House floor for impersonating a Representative. And don’t land on no cactus when you fall there bud.

Blithering Idiots All

Is it just my imagination or has the Middle East uproar opened the gates to another round of severe idiocy? And I’m not meaning just about the Middle East.

The danger of that bottle getting uncorked is that it’s blown hither and yon and where it lands, no one can know.

A few examples. Some of them linked, but a few I’ve come across in the past few days.

Glenn Beck is of course the KING of idiocy. His nutzy caliphate conspiracy theories are leading the charge of loopiness. Even the feminist uprising in Italy is joined, as well as Google (there must be  a reason why Google is having difficulties in Beijing for instance–can’t you see the connection?). The Left in all its glorious rainbow of elements is in bed with the commies and the Islamic extremists, all bent on taking down civilization.

I hurried to look at my “progressive” ID and sure ‘nuf, there it was: My goal is the destruction of civilization and I pledge allegiance to an Islamic caliphate. My only question is, do I have to dress for dinner?

Now, you may never have heart of a dude named Herman Cain. No reason you should. He used to own a fast food joint, a chain of them–Godfather’s Pizza. He has a math degree. He’s running for president. He’s the darling of the “extreme extreme white right-wing” because he is a good House Negro. He said at CPAC that liberals  have as their goal “the destruction of America.”

Well, Mr. Cain (have a brother named Abel by any chance?). I think you could reasonable say, “the liberal agenda will in my opinion result in the destruction of America. But what you said? That makes you a blithering idiot.

Some amoeba in Iowa introduced a bill in the House that would give business owners the right to refuse service to anyone whose “lifestyle” they did not agree with. Aimed at gay marriage couples, it could be used to discriminate against anyone, interracial marriage, non-Christians, you name it. One wonders where this blithering idiot got his high school diploma. Mail-order?

The Guvnor of Wisconsin has unilaterally ended the right of public employees to bargain collectively. And he says the National Guard is ready to keep the peace should there be any “unrest.” A blithering idiot? You betcha.  I bet if there are any marches, Glenn will hook it up with the caliphate.

Kansas delights us with Connie O’Brien, GOPer in her House, got all snooty and such when her “Kansas” born son was denied financial aid for school. In the line in front of them was a woman, who “we could tell by looking at her was not originally from this country. . .” Ms. O’Brien explained that she was not black, not Asian, and had an olive complexion– thus she was assuredly an illegal.

Of course a number of folks demanded she apologize. Ms. O’Brien said, well, no, not until she had had “time to think.” Yesssss. Thinking an underused art ma’am. You are a blithering idiot.

Most of the commenters on The Blaze are blithering idiots. After reading it for a couple of weeks, I’ve realized that there are only about 30 people who do all the commenting. But that’s thirty blithering idiots lurking around the US of A. One of them may be your neighbor. Beware.

No doubt you are aware that “community organizer” is a very very bad thing. The wacko right says it, so it must be true. But yesterday, I was half-listening (one should never do more) to Glenny talk about his caliphate notions, when he urged everyone to hook up on his website to become a network of “knowledgeable” folks. He said the website would be functioning as a “community organizer.” I’m sure that the Blaze commenters will be vilifying Beck today. Wanna bet? I got this lovely bridge to sell ya.

Numerous blithering idiots are claiming that everything from McDonald’s to the Vatican are “infiltrated by members of the Muslim Brotherhood.” Even CPAC is not immune. Frank Gaffney and Pam Geller say so. But both are notorious blithering idiots. It’s a wash.

Puzzle of the day: What did she say?  Palin is always a blithering idiot candidate. Palin in her recent interview with CBN:

“But when it comes to, and David, perhaps what it is that you’re suggesting in the question is should the GOP, should conservatives not reach out to others, not participate in events or forums that perhaps are rising within those forums are issues that maybe we don’t personally agree with?”—on the inclusion of pro-gay groups in the CPAC conference, in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Feb. 4, 2011

In South Dakota, a bill has been introduced that would make it justifiable homicide to kill an abortion doctor. Yep, and this one has passed out of committee by a nine-to-three vote. You guessed it. It is the GOP who are doing this one too. Does this get your vote as the biggest blithering idiot? Or as they say, if you can’t stop ’em one way, well, try another way.

Everyone at The Blaze and at National Review are by definition blithering idiots.

Notice the common theme here? If you didn’t it’s quite simply this: All of these clowns are Republicans. It really makes me want to have a law that makes political identification by means of a forehead tatoo mandatory. I want to know the enemy, immediately, before he/she opens the maw of insanity and frizzles my brain.

Beck Criticizes Johnny Depp: Iowa Woman Declares War

It’s best not to get between a woman and her fantasy. If ya know what I mean.

Glenn Beck, perennial wackadoodle has gone and done it.

Glenn has been so god-awful crazy in the last few days with his Caliphate this and that, that, well, I thought to stop in for a small dose. Just to remind myself of just how SANE I am in comparison.

Well, he was frothing at the mouth, as you might expect–about the usual crap. And then he just up and says,

“We don’t need any Johnnnnny Depp telling us how we have to be here in America.” He babbled on about other “Hollywood” types. It was all fairly unintelligible, but he came back to it about three times. “No Johnny Depp and his ‘we need to be more like France’ bullshit–excuse my French.”

I have no idea what Beck was alluding to, but I’m sure that it had to do with some of the anal attitudes we cling to about social issues that leave the rest of the world wondering when we will ever grow up.

In any event, game on Beck. The only thing awaiting you is a full chapter in the next textbook on abnormal psychology, “disordered personalities.”

Enuf time wasted on the mentally unstable.

***

Well, Egypt finally did it. Got rid of Mubarak. I sure wish them well. I hope they get free elections and can institute the form of government that they wish.

***

Is anyone as nauseated with Tim Pawlenty as I am? He went from being a sort of nobody, to trying to be somebody by playing to the far right. He’s been palin’ around with Bryan Fischer, awful human being, and now he’s trying to “talk foreign policy” as if he knows anything about that!It seems his theory is much like Dubya’s, “might makes right.” How utterly Neanderthal. Another entry from MinneSOTA best left unheard.

***

Course, if you watch Foxy crap which I know you don’t or Glenn Beck (more than five minutes will cause ear cancer), you are probably really unaware of what the Muslim Brotherhood is all about. There is a lengthy, but very informative article at AlterNet that can set you straight.

***

Okay, it’s Saturday, the sun is not shining, but it’s 34° and so the snow, she’s a meltin’. What to do tomorrow with no football? Still a month from March  Madness. Watched “Despicable Me” last night. Was cute.

See ya.

All Snugged UP

Okay, it wasn’t actually THAT bad. To be honest, we don’t really know how much snow we got. All the places where we measure were clean of snow. It blew THAT hard. There are places where there are a couple of inches, and then drifts that are two feet high. I’m guessing we got about 4-5 inches.

Still, we are most assuredly snowed in. Which is okay sort of. I mean we got food, and wood. We don’t have any special treats for Superbowl Sunday.

I can’t go shopping til whenever, because when we get out we have to get a new alternator first. And there is plenty of snow in the forecast, though amounts are still up in the air–“up in the air”– get it? And after about four days in the twenties, it’s going back to single digits and subzero at night.

February can go suck an egg.

***

I don’t like much I’m reading in the news so far. Just a few snippets minus the links. Rand Paul is trying to suck money from his supporters with a baseless fear about the US signing a treaty that will strip all private gun ownership. This with the UN. It’s all nonsense as even the NRA admits, yet Paul will scare a lot of folks into sending him money.  What a jerk.

A woman tried to mail a puppy in a two-day priority mail box. Puppy discovered and saved. Woman crazy and should be locked up.

Anderson Cooper assaulted in Cairo as pro-Mubarak forces are sent out to engage violently with the anti-government forces. Meanwhile of course the wackos continue to claim that the “pro-al Qaeda Muslim Brotherhood” has as its first priority to attack Israel.

Within hours of the faked up anti-planned parenthood video, websites and marches are set up and ready to go. Does anyone smell a rat here? All the usual right-wing groups are signed up.

I’m not sure I want to read any more news.

***

Steven Benen does a good analysis of Glenn Beck’s latest insanity. Turkey, a republic since 1928, is in fact a dictatorship according to Beckian land. He posits that China will take New Zealand and all kinds of other squirrelly nonsense. Beck has lost some 1/3 of his followers and seems desperate. Thus the claims get even more insane. Read the analysis and link to the embedded video to see the wacko in action. Followers are being told to “store up food.” Oh and PS: read the comments which are hilarious: “It’s like taking Jack Benny seriously as Hamlet.” Too funny.

***

El Baradei, thought by many to be a likely head of an interim government in Egypt, is well thought of by most of the moderates and liberals. Of course that means he is an enemy of the far right. Both Gingrich (who cares), and John McCain (who cares even less) have warned on Fox Crap that El Baradei is a secret radical and an enemy of the US. What a crock. El Baradei, you will remember, raised the ire of the neo-cons back in the day when he told the truth about Iraq and made their “dangerous” Iraq proofs all the harder.

***
It seems the media is more fun than ever these days. Billo the Clown, touter of “fair and balanced” made it quite clear, that when one “knows” fair and balanced, one knows “not fair and balanced.” And Al-Jazeera is not fair and balanced, and if Alan Colmes suggests they are, well Billo just screams him down. I think that Billo just felt a jab of guilt, don’t you?

***

Reagan’s Solicitor General, and now Harvard professor, Charles Fried says that the new Health Care Law is surely constitutional. This pissed off Orin Hatch to no end, but I’m guessing Fried is a bit more knowledgeable than Hatch. A video of his testimony at Truthout.

***

The call it “Fox Geezer syndrome” and more and more people are complaining about it. It seems that our elderly, left with nothing to do, are turning to Fox and Beck and well, becoming conspiracy fanatics. When they kids call or visit, they are met with endless diatribes about Obama, and the left, to the point that such conversations must be avoided. Funny, but sad it in a way too, because many reporting this are conservatives themselves, and find their parents descent into Fox madness quite disconcerting.

Also, Beck’s numbers have fallen by 1.5 million, and Fox’s median age is, get this: 65! Retirees with nothing to do, sit and watch this crap show all day and night and are the elderly zombie generation. Unreal isn’t it?

***

But another reason why fundamentalist beliefs and rational politics don’t mix. Mikey Huckabee is against the Palestinians having a homeland of their own. Forget of course that it was their homeland long before “God gave it to Israel.” No, Huck believes in the biblical history that suggests that Israel gets all of the promised land. It begs the question that if Huck runs for president, he’s gonna have to explain if he is a biblical apocalyptic believer. If so, I’m thinking he has disqualified himself from the job. Scary crap.
