Well it’s been a busy day. I’ve been updating the blog and it’s boring and time consuming. I’ve checked all the links, dropped the dead ones and added about ten more than I’ve picked up but hadn’t gotten around to adding.
So be sure to look at the links which are now located only on the right side along with categories. Most of the new stuff is in the Religious section since I’ve found a number of new more technically oriented blogs on biblical studies. I’ve added another one under Atheism and a couple under All Things Iowa and Political. A very few links had to be corrected since they are still up and running but had moved to new digs.
Another of those strange things has occurred. Sunday, I had hits of nearly 700 with nearly that much yesterday. That is reflected on both stat meters. I still am suspicious, since there was but one comment on Sunday. Yesterdays has generated a few more, which I’m getting to today. So I have my doubts that that many new folks visited yet nobody had a thing to say. Same thing happened in February, but I must say, my readership improved by about 50 or so people a day right after that. Time will tell no doubt.
Comments are down quite a bit, but I rather encouraged that I guess. I didn’t want people to feel obligated to leave the obligatory “been here” comment. I visit many blogs every day, and read them, yet don’t load them to leave a comment. If I don’t have a thing to add, I usually don’t since for me, it’s like five extra minutes just to load the comment box and so forth. Multiply that by 40-75 blogs or so, and you see my dilemma. Still the absence of comments coupled with such a rise in readers doesn’t quite mesh for me.
I am thrilled however that business seems fairly brisk, so I guess I’m saying something that is mildly interested to bored folks sitting in offices waiting for quittin’ time!
I keep piling on stuff from church. I’m involved in all kinds of stuff, mostly on Sunday, such as chalice serving, lectoring, ushering. We are set to work the “feed the kids” program during the summer. A collection of churches gets together to make sure that kids in need get one meal a day that is nutritious. The Contrarian is joining in that one. I continue to spend a day a week working on the library. We’re cataloguing now on spreadsheets.
Planning to make a new quilt. I hope to secure some of the fabric at least by the end of the week. It will be green and pink, hearts and tulips, and an applique quilt. It will probably take two years to finish, knowing me. I guess I should look online for material. Not a lot of places for fabric in Cedar Rapids.
The garden is looking well. Everything seems to be growing. We’ve had plenty of rain this week, nearly two inches. Everybody is happy and healthy otherwise. Redwings are two up in the Stanley Cup.
I’ll be back up with a regular post tomorrow. Hope you find a link or two that strikes your fancy.
